Murdoch the streamline engine
Murdoch
Murdoch is a mighty, powerful engine with ten drive wheels. He is one of the largest engines working on Sodor and was brought to the Island to help with the heavy workload and pull heavy goods trains across the Main Line. Murdoch is as shy as he is strong, as he is actually a gentle giant. He can often be found seeking peace and quiet, away from the bustle of the yards and the Docks. He enjoys long hauls through the countryside and although he can get short of patience and a little annoyed if he does not get some alone time, he can be quite a reserved engine. Although he can be an independent worker, Murdoch is often content to join in, help and offer advice where he deems it worthy, but, despite being hard to miss due to his defining strength and size, he will not jump to put himself at the centre of attention.
Smudger the narrow gauge
Smudger was very vain, showing off his ways which caused accidents due to his carelessness. He also did not take advice from others, or usually worry about problems which he often brushed off. He was quite cheeky too, often taking lectures as jokes.

Skarloey the narrow gauge
Skarloey
Skarloey is wise, kind, and very dedicated to his railway. As one of the oldest engines on the Island of Sodor, he's respected by the younger narrow gauge engines and often acts like a mentor. Though he once became grumpy and refused to work after an overhaul, he later regained his cheerful, hardworking nature.
Rheneas the narrow gauge
Rheneas
Rheneas is often described as brave, noble, and resilient. He once continued pulling a train full of passengers even while he was badly damaged, which earned him great respect. He is considered a hero on the Skarloey Railway, much like his close friend Skarloey.

Gordon the express engine
Gordon
Gordon is often portrayed as a proud, pompous, and very confident engine. He’s the largest and most powerful engine on the Island of Sodor, and he knows it. He tends to view himself as superior to the other engines, particularly the smaller ones like Thomas and Percy. Despite his somewhat arrogant demeanor, Gordon is not a bad engine; he’s just incredibly proud of his abilities.
Henry the express engine
Henry
Henry is one of the older and more established engines on the Island of Sodor. He is known for his initial laziness, a somewhat sensitive nature, and his tendency to complain about things that are inconvenient to him. He is, however, a strong and capable engine when it comes to working hard.
